Welcome to WD johanfrc
As i understand it, u installed the card after completing the WinXP installation. Did u use the Audigy cd to install the drivers? Try removing the audigy and installing it again. Or boot to safe boot (Press F8) during boot up.
Maybe someone else can help u better. Youve come to the right place

johan it means the install has not completed properly
Boot to safe mode, uninstall the software and the device
and try again.
