I just assumed we were going with the normal american numering system, where you read from left to right. Maybe you can get a point for some sort of lame technicallity or something.

I was mainly kidding around with ADEPT, but if I were to write a math problem like this:

..then when I am talking about the first digit I would be referencing the first digit on the right because all rows have a first digit. If I did it the regular way from left to right, then the first digit in the middle row would line up with the second digits in the top and bottom rows... harder to explain and possibly more confusing...

Of course, I'm just making all this up in hopes of getting more points...
