Asus A7N266 PCMCIA extender card
I have just installed a PCMCIA-PCI extender card to facilitate the use of a Cardbus wireless card for my wireless internet connection.
The PCMCIA extender was installed without a problem, and the system recognised it immediately.
However, when I insert the Cardbus wireless PCMCIA card into it I get a message telling me that the firmware in my system is not configured to allow Cardbus to be used.
Has anyone come across this type of problem before?
What do I need to do to solve it?
Help!!

Thanks for you reply.
It is a PCMCIA card supplied by Bluewin, which is the ADSL provider in Switzerland, where I am going to be living for the next 3 years.
It's number is NWH1022, and the wireless protocol is 802.11b+.
I am running Windows XP SP 1.
Look forward to your comments.

ok, now I am confused
the a7n266 spec makes no mention of a pcmcia extender.... did this come with the motherboard or was it sourced from else where? What is the make and model of the extender card?

I purchased the extender card seperately, it is a RIcoh but I am away from my PC at the moment and cannot get to the exact serial number.

Morning NooNoo.
The exact part number of the extender card is:
Ricoh R/RL/RT/RC/5C475(II), R5C520
The motherboard is an A7N266-VM Version 1.05, on which I have never updated the BIOS.
Any ideas?

this it?
• RICOH R5C475II chipset
• Hot Swapping and Plug-n-Play compatible
• Support 16-bit (PCMCIA 2.1/JEIDA 4.2) and most 32-bit (CardBus) PC Cards
Most..... that's ominous - do any other pcmcia cards work with it?
try emailing the message about firmware to support

Welcome to Windrivers Vittoriovalerio
You will find the drivers at your laptop manufacturer support page. If you don't know where that is, post the make and the FULL model here.

Try the European site here - you will need to enter your product and serial code
Note you can change to Italian on the drop down box on the top right.
You also didn't say what Windows you needed.
