Pulling my hair out over this SiS 7012 error:
Multimedia Audio Controller
An error occurred during the installation of this device
The name is already in use as either a service name or a
service display name.
OS:
Windows XP Pro Corp.
Driver:
SiS 7012
Motherboard:
Name: Asus P4S266-VX
Motherboard Chipset: SiS650
Integrated devices: Audio, Video
If it helps the computer is a Sony Vaio PCV-RX753.
Any information or ideas for fixing this issue would be appreciated.

Welcome to windrivers slforce. Boot into safe mode. Open device manager and delete the audio controller. Reboot and see if it is now detected. You could also try the updated driver from sis: http://download.sis.com/download_ste...&os=4&x=15&y=6
