    I've heard of donating cars to things like this...but never done so myself.....

    There's plenty of places out there where you can donate your car. Look in the newspapers in the classified section, and shop around a bit. I called a few and one place would take the truck but I had to pay a $65 towing fee, and I called another and they came and took it for free. It was an '82 F150, and they gave me a slip to claim $2500 on my taxes.

    Up here, you cannot give out a tax claim which does not match the fair market value ot the donated item. You risk losing your tax exempt status if you do.

    Donate to a school (high school)..don't have to worry if it's a scam and it's tax deductable!

    Don't know about the organization, but the IRS has been cracking down on people deducting more than the fair market value for donated cars. Be careful.

    I'm no expert on what the tax laws are here, nor did I expect that much for it. But I can't complain
