    Angry Location of hosts file

    Anyone know the correct location of the "hosts" file? I can ping the linuxbox IP address but I can't ping the machine name. My hosts file is updated, but I guess it must be in the wrong place. (It's currently in c:\windows). My machine has been rebooted after changing the hosts file - I can't work it out.

    Anyone got any ideas? Network Neighbourhood is empty, and the samba drive seems to have stopped working. It's a real bummer.

    Got it. Removed and reinstalled network stuff and everything cool again. Was a dial-up adapter in device manager that was screwing things up.

    Correct locatoin is windows root after all.
