smart for hdd
is there a way to reset smart for hard drive?i have a maxtor that works no problems and which has passed all the software test with no defect inclding the the test from maxtor;no bad sector or anything but if i enable smart for hdd it gives me a warning with press f1 to proceedso what i wanrt is reset the smart and forget about the whole thing,the drive is pretty new so i would like to keep it with all it`s data

thanks noo will try this out,will rma if i have too,but i don`t believe the drive is bad,thanks noo and ed,now even i is confused,lol

don`t know if it is any indication but i loaded sp2 today and while making the back up it told me it couldn`d read atapi system,the strange thing is that everything works all right on this pc and sp2 went on no problem,i guess this is computer life,
