So you want to share all of c: then but generally you are better just making yourself a directory to use, however this is all dependent on permissions - You probably want to be logged in as admin on both & have admin rights for the account you want to access everything with at least on your dads machine for it to work 'all over' that ..

i am admin on both machines. We dont use the log accounts so there is only one account on mine and only one on my dads.If i go into windows explorer/my networkplace/shareddocs on xxxx(name of dads compter) then all i see is shared music .. shared pictures .. my videos thats all.

Ahhh I think I assumed too much, is this xp home ? That uses 'simple file sharing' which only lets you share some things .. what you seem to want is like it is in XP pro ..
Windows XP Simple File Sharing (you'll find links about both of kinds of sharing)

ok thanks for link. Looking at the info i saw the Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) and i would like to enable that for my dads computer sicne i now made him the "host" and i am the second computer (had to move computers in house) I want him to be protected with this ICF but it turns off me sharing his harddrive ? anyway about this ? seems like of stupid to me or maybe i don fully understand it.
