OWA not working
Hi,
while installing GFI MailEssentials, I had to stop and restart some services, mostly exchange related, IIS, etc.
Somehow, During the process, OWA stopped working. I have restarted all services. the only clue I have, is maybe I inadvertantly turned another service off. I have gone through them all, and don't see anyhting that looks applicable.
Does anyone know what services OWA depends on?

Mostly it relies on IIS since that is the base, it also has to interface with Exchange obviously so make sure that your exchange services have all started.
Can you hit any other pages on your IIS server?
What is the exact page error displayed when you try to open it?
You may also want to check and make sure that GFI did not take over your SMTP port. In which case your SMTP Service would not start since Port 25 would have already been taken by Mail Essentials.
Have you ever considered using a Gateway or DMZ Server for email Scanning? I really helps and eliminates the threat of someone hacking into your email server by port scanning since the Gateway/DMZ server usually gets hit first.
You just setup a small server or workstation with windows Server OS of your choice, install GFI on it and have it forward the messages to your real Exchange Server, and have your exchange server pass outgoing mail to the Gateway server to be delivered and you can offload a whole bunch of CPU time and save yourself a headache if you should ever get hacked. Usually they will hack the GFI server thinking it is your email server and then it takes only a few minutes to either rebuild or repair it rather than having all of your interoffice mail down also.
Just a suggestion.
Let me know if that helps.
