autoexec.bat
I'm attempting to use vgabios to check out a bios for a video card. Vgabios loads the video bios into memory so that it can tested for potential problems without actually flashing the card.
It is recommended that a line such as -
c:\vgabios -fBIOS.ROM
be inserted into an AUTOEXEC.BAT so that you can test run it with your OS.
Here's my question: Does WinXP use AUTOEXEC.BAT at boot?
thanks.....d

Technically it doesn't, but there are ways "around it" for your purposes. I am going to PM one of our resident bios experts and let him give input on this, but please keep it here and updated so many of us can get a few more of Ruslan's bios tips.

Actually, not... only if you have dual boot (with DOS 7.10 ,for example (Win98 without GUI)), you can use it. (As I do ).
May someone has some own tricks regarding this issue?

Geezer
No Kb or Technical brief from Silly Billy to offer, on how all this works .. but I think this is pretty good - Boot Sequence XP
My suggestion for how to get around XP not usually using autoexec.bat is to : -Make a boot floppy with 98 or whatnot & just run it by changing the boot sequence
