DCHP Timeout Settings
Howdy! Does anyone know how to change the DHCP timeout settings in win xp pro? I have a laptop and go from home to work and managed to figure out (rather easy once you figure it out) how to store multiple network configurations without having to create netsh scripts. At work i have static ip's and at home of course its dhcp. All I did is go to the network adapter tcp/ip properties and set the default to obtain ip automatically, and then on alternate config tab, entered in the ip information for work. So when DHCP times out, it will automatically switch to my alternate ip. Cooh eh? Anyway, it takes 60 seconds for dhcp to time out and then switch, so i was wondering if there is a way to adjust this setting, maybe somewhere around 15-20 seconds??? not a big deal, just kinda irritating when im in a hurry.
