[RESOLVED] COMPORT ONE
I AM RUNNING A DOS PROGRAM TO PROGRAM A FIRE
PANEL,WHEN I TRY TO DOWNLOAD THE INFO THRU
WIN-98 INTO THE CONTROL PANEL,WINDOWS WILL
NOT LET THE DOS PROGRAM USE COMPORT ONE.
I WAS TOLD THERE MIGHT BE A WINDOWS DRIVER
THAT WILL LET DOS USE COMPORT ONE THRU
WIN-98
IF ANY OF YOU COULD HELP I WOULD APPRECIATE

If you have your COM Ports set to physical addresses in the BIOS (CMOS) setup, they will work in DOS with no software needed. They are physical pieces of hardware that are recognized by virtually ever operating system with no drivers or software required.
Make sure no other devices are attatched to COM1.
Also, look in the middle of the left hand column of keys on your keyboard, there is a button there that says Caps Lock. If you press it down, it will keep you from typing everything in all caps!
