Are you sure that board will support this? As I said in the other thread, an 810 won't support Tualatin, right Rus? And, there is no P3 1500 as the highest was the 1400. So, going by what Rus said previously, I would not trust whatever that brd mfg says. And smitty's reply was, as usual, right on.

The Bios ID says it is a 07/06/2003-i810(E)-W8362-6A69MTRAC-00. Of course that could be wrong, and probably is since it says it's a PIII. But looking closely at the chip it says 810.

Wonder if it would be possible, for curiosity sakes, to reflash the bios and see if the board can be fixed to report real bios ID. But I could only guess what bios to try for an 810 chip. Any Ideas? Award-Phoenix?

July 2k3 for an 810 board? Hmmm. Sounds to me like it's been flashed with that kind of date. But, if you are asking about some sort of "new" bios or hot swap, then Ruslan is your man. So, pm him.

Been seeing ads for this site on TV. Its some kind of intermediary, supposedly for business to business transactions. Granted its a dumb name, but my guess is they're just hosting the site.

The moral of the story: you get what you pay for!
If you want a good thing you buy a product made by a reputable company and sold by an authorized reseller. And if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I have the same board laying in my spareparts box... defective, though...
Heatsink sticker says Pro1800+ , but hardware tests shows actually that's a Duron CPU... And the CPU is actually soldered into the motherboard...
The funny thing is those boards shows actual CPU's speed/name if you're flashing BIOS downloaded from ECS/PCChips... So, I would assume it's someone's hands work, that "XP1800" BIOS...

There were a lot of BIOSes made for 810 chipset, and far not all of them are compatible. Each of BIOSes is made for specific board... So, flashing wrong BIOS may be fatal for the board...
You can try to identify your board (it is hard for us to do so without seeing the picture of the board)... Use Hardware Info utility from www.hwinfo.com , or ASTRA from http://www.sysinfolab.com/ (I like this one! ) ,or Everest from http://www.lavalys.com/

But as long system is working fine and you're not going to resell it, leave it as it is... PIII-1300 sounds better than Cel 433...

Not exactly, but for most of 810 MBs it is true... but some of them could support Tualatins... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...cname=bph07044

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...cname=bph07027

well, even an old BX chipset can support Tualatins (not officially, though ). It's just only matter of voltage regulator and the Socket 370 pinouts... (can be fixed )
By the way, motherboards supporting Tualatins, cannot work with Mendocino Celerons... Even more, using Mendocino Celerons can damage voltage regulator in those boards... At least, I've seen personally few MBs damaged after that...

So, his motherboard cannot support Tualatins (because he has already Mendocino Celeron installed and working right now)...

    Always sooo technical.

Ran ASTRA and it identified the board as a Topstar with Phoenix-Award Bios v6.00pg 82810E 810E.

    Looking for bios now.

PC is waiting for replacement board and in the mean time I would really like to know what this board started out as and what it can do. The person didn't get it cheap ither and has an Ebay fraud claim pending. In the mean time in my spare time I am curious how they were able to install phony Bios and then see if it can be reflashed back to the original.

    Bios Agent says this about board;

    BIOS ID: 07/06/2003-i810(E)-W8362-6A69MTRAC-00
    OEM Sign-On: (13PRO) EVALUATION ROM - CH

Wondering what (13PRO) EVALUATION ROM - CH means?

Anyway after new board arrives this goes to the scrap pile unless I can reflash it to oringinal.

    CH probably means CHina...

    http://www.topstar1.com/ if you speak Chinese...
    Couldn't find anything else...

Guys who changed the BIOS probably changed only text messages... It is possible - I did it myself using some hacking tools... For example, for changing BIOS string messages for your company name, change Award Logo for your company logo etc... Don't remember name exactly, though - last time I used it was few years ago...
Also BIOS Patcher I mentioned many times has also built-in an option to change that BIOS string so any CPU you're using will be shown under the same name (P4-4000, for example )...
