Welcome to windrivers skandal. It looks like you are trying to install vxd drivers on top of wdm drivers or vice versa. You've got to uninstall one before installing the other. Also, Creative sold many versions of this card. If you have one based on the ES1371 or ES1373, the drivers on Creative's web site will not work. Look at your sound card for a code in the format ES#### or CT#### and post that info.

* There are no driver updates for PCI 128 (CT4700) and PCI 64 cards based on the ES1370, ES1371 and ES1373 Chipsets for Windows Me/2000/XP - you must use the drivers built into these operating systems.
If you have a PCI 128/Vibra 128/PCI 64 soundcard that has either one of the following CT model numbers or chipset numbers, contact the PC manufacturer for drivers:
CT2515
CT2518
CT58xx
550x where x is a number between 0 and 9

The drivers can ususally be uninstalled from the add/remove programs menu.

If you are not comfortable with this level of investigation and repair, then you are probably in over your head. Suggest you find a reputable repair shop.

Not ususally the best way to go. It can muck up the files to the point where nothing will work. Lets see if we can narrow it down. Download Everest and post the info for Multimedia\PCI Audio.
Is this a branded computer? If so, what is the make/model?
Was the sound card included w/ the computer when new?
Is this a separate card or built into the motherboard?

That means its an oem card. Creative won't have the drivers. What is the make and model of your computer?
