Moving Hard Drive to New PC?

Anybody try to move a loaded WinXP Pro drive to a new PC? Drive has all programs and updates installed. I always reformat, but wondering if XP will work without a lot of problems.

Mostly it depends on how closely the chipset on the new motherboard matches the chipset on the old. I have had a lot more success doing it by uninstalling the ide controller and video before moving the drive...of course, if you cant boot the old comp, then you have no choice. (although oddly enough, I had a xp home computer a couple of days ago where the old board had a via chipset and the new one an intel, that worked perfectly just by moving the drive..)
