Post MSN Messenger

Am I the only one having problems with MSN Messenger? I'm getting disconnected when I'm trying to toggle another contact for chatting, while already involved with someone in chat mode.
If I'm chatting with two people, I'll get disconnected.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm running Windows 98 with an AMD-K6-2 400Mhz processor. I have I.E.5.01 and Outlook Express 5. Please don't recommend that I upgrade, because 5.5 and 6.0 isn't liked by my computer. Any help offered would be appreciated. Thanks.

Actually, upgrade might not be a bad idea. Try going to windows update and get the latest messenger (I believe 4.6) if you haven't already.

I appreciate the responses, but I can't upgrade my browser, and I already have MSN Messenger 4.6 which seems to be the topic of discussion. I really need this matter resolved. Anyone else have an opinion about this that might help?

Perhaps 4.6 is the problem. Go to www.oldversion.com and try downloading an old version of MSN Messenger.

Trillian is a good program. Click here to get started with Trillian.

Glad to help. You can also install it on a system and run it without having to reboot. That is what sold me on it.

O.k., now I have a Trillian problem. In the beginning, it successfully signed me onto both Yahoo and MSN accounts simultaneously. Now, it'll sign onto MSN, but yahoo is on and off. What can I do?

I believe that is not Trillian but Yahoo. I have been using Trillian for about a year now and the same thing keeps happening. Are you in an active chat with Yahoo when it disconnects or is it idle? I think that if it is idle for too long yahoo shuts it down. Let me know.

You know, I like Trillian over the other i.m.'s, but it would be nice if I could connect to both MSN and Yahoo. I wonder if there's anything I can do about this. I reported the bug to Cerulean Studios, and I hope they respond. If it'sa Yahoo problem, then I wouldn't be surprised. Their i.m. isn't that good, anyway. Actually, it reminds me very much of ICQ.
