    Requirements for Server 2003

Server 2003 Enterprise Edition eval does of course run very well on my P4 with 512MB of memory but intruded on my XP partition so I took Server 2003 off.

If I instal it on an Intel Celeron 667mhz machine with 128MB RAM will I notice a lot of difference in how it runs because in the lab we use for our MCP course we have P4s with 1GB of RAM and our tutor says Server 2003 is greedy. I need to instal it to do labs and assessments between classes.

    I'm sure you've seen this :

You'd meet the minimums for CPU, but barely squeak by on RAM. I'd bump that up to 512...Memory is more important then CPU for a test environment. Your Celeron should do it...

The machine is PC100 and the only memory that might do is PC133 256MB (two off) 168pin SDRAM DIMM - I am using the backup machine at the moment and need to find out what type of memory it has. All my system tools are on the Millenium partition as this is a fairly new reinstall of XP I never got round to reinstalling my apps.

i run w2k3 server on an ancient PII 400 with 384mb ram. It works perfectly in my play network. I think it would suffer if i started hammering it. Ram is the definate key here, i jumped from 256 to 384 and it made a lot of difference.
2003 went on with 256 and worked. Redhat AS3 didn't, not enough ram, go figure.l
