Mysterious way my man, you could have been doing 200 plus down the track and needed your breaks when the rod could have broken…it’s a lucky thing you were still staging…sucks that you didn’t get to race, and the rest of the things you’ve encountered exponentially teh_suck, but it’s all part of life…you’ll make it to the finish line again…and we’ll all be there with ya…

I agree with you 100 percent about my ace watching over me. When we got back to the pits later that day, my cousins were playing by the car and I wanted to put the safety pin in so that they did not knock out the parachute. Well, I did not need to worry because the safety pin was there. If I would have made a pass I would have had no brake and no chute at 130 + mph.

While there have been tough times this year, it will get better. My father is back to 20/40 vision in his right (damaged) eye with contacts, and actually can pass the vision test to be able to race again! I know the sun is gonna shine again, and it will be great indeed!

Another example of how cruel life can be sometimes happened on Sunday to the Nascar Hendrick Motorsports Team. 10 Members of the team were killed on the way to Martinsville Speedway when the plae they were travelling in crashed in heavy fog. 4 members of the same family were on the plane as well as friends a co-workers.

At just about every other track on earth, it is a sandpit. At Brainerd International Raceway (where I was running), it is a 3 mile road course that the drag strip is the front stretch. All I know is that sharp right hand turn would have been a beeeatch to try and make. Ask firemonkey about the bike guys going through turn 1, he ha a few stories from there.
