No no no,.. you guys aren't getting it. I'm not saying more modding is needed (that just means censoring, banning and all that other bad stuff),.. I'm talking about a referee. Someone to officiate and point out who is fouling, who is off-sides, who stepped out of bounds, someone who could pass out penalty flags which would move the other party back 5 yards,.. I'm talking about who blows the whistle when time is up and then declares the winner of the argument. Get it?

Errrr .. nope I don't get it !
Not unless the '..right lets get Aunty Noo to make this a poll & see what the majority thinks then ..' sentiment covers it ?

why does there need to be a winner in any case? are we that insecure about our individuality that we need someone to tell us (and everyone else) we "won" ? seems to me that many on here have a problem making a separation between person and opinion. when someone's opinion/argument is rejected, it seems like that person feels rejected as a whole. i do not agree with some, but i still like those people anyways. imagine a world where we all agree on everything...what a freakin' boring way to live!
another thing that keeps rearing its ugly head is a bunch of name calling...if your argument/opinion is reduced to name calling, then you definitely have to get some new material! go...get some research done...come back and enlighten the rest of us with what you have found, we'd all benefit from it!
but when it comes to opinions, tastes, and other things not "factual" that cannot be rated, let's just show some respect...keep putting yourself in the other person's shoes, and then reply...if something is taken the wrong way, explain yourself, period! what is the major cause of fights on these boards? PRIDE! something we could all have much less of and be much better off without. so how 'bout swallowing our pride once in a while, and nto trying to have the last word at any cost.
My New Year's resolution: to be intolerant towards those who are intolerant of me, that'll learn 'em!

I think I'm warming to the 'fake' adept .. (definately only joking incase thats not entirely clear !)
I don't think Pride is the problem, I think lack of respect is the issue & thats not even really deliberate, it just kind of happens sometimes (sometimes it definately though might be deliberate), things just get 'escalated' (starts as funny, gets a little more aggressive etc ) .. & I pressume thats where Webby is going with this & his serach for a 'referee' ?
But thats Noo - so ..? - hell I'm confus-ed again ! - definately theres a problem of some sort as its been like this for years & years - but how the hell you solve it without removing the 'soul' from the place I dunno ..
& just whats wrong with name calling you big Canadian palooka !?! - its when people decide its nasty that it becomes a problem ..
