Resolved [RESOLVED] W98se, Crash during Startup when

This one has me stumped, when I use a Win98se startup disk created from a functional machine to start another machine, the boot process halts after displaying the loading OAK ATAPI CD-ROM driver statement, (on same screen that displays the 3 menu options.

    The problem machine.....I built
    ASUS P2B board
    WDigital 10 gig and
    Maxtor 2 gig
    40X CD-ROM and HP 9110i CD-W&RW (both IDE)
    128MB PC 100 SDRAM.....All just tested
    Permedia II 8MB AGP
    Permedia II 8MB PCI
    S3 Virge DX 4MB PCI

I've used several different discs but it will not pass this startup point.....and

due to a virus....I just took both drives down, re-partitioned and reformatted them and the Maxtor 2 gig just loaded SE perfectly, but I can't proceed past format point with the Western Digital 10 gig.
    Anybody have a suggestion??

Thanx in advance....responses in this forum preferably...or e-mail to pantheral@hotmail

Probably have the jumpers on the HDs and the CD set wrong. Make sure something is master, and stomething is slave. Disconnect the CD, and try again.
