win xp updates
Hey guys, I am going to help a friend this weekend by reformating and installing the win xp professional he bought some time ago. I now his puter hardware is all good to go as I built it for him. Now my problem.... he has had this XP cd for a while so it doesn't have any updates and he is on a dial up connection. I have broadband here and would like to know if it is possible to d-load the updates and service packs 1 and 2 here, burn on disk and take with me to install in less then four days. So what I am looking for is some help locating which files I need. I have browsed Microsoft and just get more and more confused.
PS I use win 2000 and the update site sends me in circles looking for XP goodies

You can slipstream XP with SP1 or SP2, what ever is your choice, just use AutoStreamer http://www.autopatcher.com/autostreamer.html
That way when u install XP it will be with SP2 already installed.
Or you can install all the updates after installing SP1 using AutoPatcherXP, check my sig for the link.
They also have AutoPatcher for Win2000, requirement is SP4.
