I've got an acer 501dx (I think, haven't looked at it for a while, I'll check tommrow.
How bad is it to replace the battery? I don't know much about laprops.

The main battery? It just slides out of the bottom.

Hey DA, would it be worth it for me to put a new, bigger hard drive in the 501DX? Its got a 3 gig, and with XP Pro, and when you add in office XP its almost full. Should I put a new hard drive in it or should I try to find a newer laptop (kind of hard to do when I don't have any money  )

if you can find a new drive for cheap then go for it. Just be aware that the notebook may not see drives over 8gb properly.
You would be best to start saving that cash and looking at how much a new notebook will cost you though.
