Geezer
There's another one running on this over here 11m 11d 11h as I dunno whether 'Happy' is a word I can agree with, but I do most definately appreciate the overall sentiment if not quite this exact wording , but no doubt some folks will have in some way a happy day as they reunite with old commrades etc, but most definately mixed emotions at least .

Thanks for your support.
I would also thank Ya_Know for his service, if he is lurking here while banned. In spite of whatever differences we may have about life, he was willing to give it all up for his country.
That means something to me today.

Indeed.
And, happy, -ed, as in a day off of work for some of us.
But you're right, of course. That field of poppies lives indelibly in my mind in a very sad way. Mixed emotions indeed.

Poem to the Soldier
Author Unknown
It is the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of press
It is the Soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer who gives us freedom to demonstrate
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag.
