    Resolved [RESOLVED] Cmos/Bios

Is there a registry key that has the password to get in to the Bios setup.
Older HP given to Me. Or how can I bypass it
    without wiping the drive?(fdisk)

Usually on HP systems, pressing F2 on the Blue HP logoed POST screen does the trick.

F2 takes Me to a password box that gives You 3 times to get it right. Might be administrative password. Thats why I'm wondering if its hidden in the registry. Thanks

No the password is stored in the actual CMOS itself.

Download the following program and run it.

    Cool

The BIOS loads before the operating system, therefore before the registry. Best suggestion is to go to BIOS/Motherboard forum,Do a search for [BIOS password]. There were several posts for you to read on this subject.

what model hp do you have
for most hp computers there is a jumper on the mobo [Battery test jumper (RTCLR)]
    here are the settings

    Normal
    1-2
    (default)

    Clear data
    2-3
    (momentarily)
    hope this helps
if you have the model number of the hp you can go to the hp website and check the jumper settings
