If I could summon one, the memories from my 20s would heartily disagree.... on both counts.

    Chemicals in the environment

Sorry, you guys asked the question and since there are so many replys without expanation I thought you would of missed the answer. I'm new here but I'm learning.
There are people who have already answered the question you have asked. The trouble is can you find the answer? For every question you can ask you can find an answer I learned in college. Studies have been done somewhere, sometime. You just have to find the answer and the web makes that possible.
PBS in the United States did a Documentary a couple of years ago. All you have to do is find it.

No worries .. folks lock onto whatever previous posts they'd like to expound upon frequently, so very often very emminently sensible answers can be apparently lost in the mayhem, as folks dip in & out of the forums all the time just answering replies they've got from old threads or finding new ones where they can add to the content or just poke some fun/have a laugh etc - topic title & general subject aren't always what every post will be about, 'assides' are a particular skill/love here as we all seem to love to wander completely off the point !

This can all take some getting used to, but I hope you'll stick around long enough to fathom that out for yourself

    3fingersalute Link Please???
In answer to your request for a link to the Chemicals
    PBS documentary.

You can find the PBS Frontline report on these web pages.
    http://www.pbs.org/search/search_res...onment&spell=1
    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontl...t/envchem.html
    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontl...t/testing.html

An example of what is dicussed from the above web address:

"Most people probably assume that man-made chemicals get tested for safety. After all, the EPA, with its huge bureacracy, has been successful over the years in banning pernicious substances like PCBs.
The reality is that a majority of the 75,000 industrial chemicals that are in everyday use have not even been tested for basic health effects like cancer and toxicity, according to a detailed study conducted by the Environmental Defense Fund. And many chemicals have never been tested for neurotoxicological or developmental effects that these substances could pose to humans and the environment. The EPA has just recently started to address the issue of testing endocrine disrupting chemicals.
According to the report "Toxic Ignorance" published in 1997, approximately 75 percent of 3,000 chemicals produced in high volumes did not go through the most rudimentary tests for toxicity. Less than half of these chemicals were tested for reproductive toxicity, carcinogenicity, neurotoxicity and immunotoxicity -- all basic requirements under the internationally accepted definitions for minimum screening set by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Chemicals Program."

    - an outbreak of 'reasonableness' from two of us at once - well I never

Now the question is should I be my usual ecco warrior & give DownBeachBreeze the support I think that post deserves & wholeheartedly agree, or should I, having been far too nice for me on this page already, be a contrary git ?
