[RESOLVED] Fatal exception keeps hosing me at start up...
As soon as I boot to my desktop I get ...
"A fatal exception has occured at 0028:C0005338 in VXD VMM(01) + 00004338"
when I press "any key" to continue it reboots....
The System:- AMD K6-2 450
- Epox VP3-C
- 128MB PC100
- Win98
I haven't recently installed anything new.. and have no idea what's caused this.
any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Shane

As a temp fix to get you up and running boot into safe mode and run regidt and search for the offending vxd and remove them.(remember to back up the registry first.)

Have a bo peep at this first http://support.microsoft.com/support.../6/72.asp?FR=0
and see if it applies to you.
Also if you search for a chap by the name of
Roy Lehrer, you will get another side of the 98 VxD Fix saga.
HIH,cheers
