OK gang, my wife, son and I are leaving in 15 minutes...
for the airport and the 1st leg of our 14 hour trip back to Southwest Virginia. I'll be off the waves for awhile, but should be back on by the end of the weekend. Though my folks live way out in the boonies they actually have a great Comcast cable connection.
Saturday my Dad, nephew, son and I are heading up to Blacksburg, VA to see the UVa - Virginia Tech football game. It will be my 1st game at Tech since 1986.
I hope everybody has a great rest of the holiday week (for us Yanks) and a great weekend. Let's everyone be careful out there.
WAR Darn Hokies...Beat the Wahoo's!
I only post using 100% recycled electrons!!!
Stay on the bomb run, boys. I'm going to get them doors open if it hair lips everybody on Bear Creek.

Have fun at the ACC Football Conference Championship game!!!
Who'd a thunk it that FSU and UM would be watching UV and VT duke (no pun) it out for the title on TV?!

Whew! Man o' man what a trip. Took nearly 19 hrs when all was said and done. The families are glad to see us though. Funny most of our relatives say that Alaska is too far to travel, but then say we need to come in more often. What's the difference?
The VT - UVa football game was great (if you're a Hokie). My snobby cousin (that side of the family with 2 eyebrows - like that's a big deal or something ) from the land of the 'Hoo's (that's UVa for y'all uncultured folks) didn't enjoy it so much, but he was a great sport about it. I hadn't been to Blacksburg for years and wow what a change for the better.
My only comment...here we are in southwest Virginia where the temperatures are about the same as Anchorage in the upper 30°F's and folks are runnin' around in Parka's and arctic winter gear. What the heck is wrong with them people. My wife and I are runnin' around in sweatshirts and jeans and lovin' it!
