modem connect explorer cant surf
hi,
i have a clinet which 2 modems installed into his computer, 1 is isdn and the other is simple 28K.
a week ago his system was hit by chernovyl virus and the mtx virus.
i removed the viruses, but after that (and also before that), i connect to the net using a modem, it verifying user andd pass, and then it connects, but the explorer could not enter any site, like a modem is not connected.
please help

either resetup the tcp/ip stack completely including removing the entries in the registry, or set up DNS entries to resolve the addresses. Failing that, wipe c:\ and reinstall

you should have two connections in the connections tab under IE properties if using the dial up try setting the connection to default and then the other one to default i think IE is trying to use the wrong settings for the wrong modem

well , i am a computer tech, and i defined the connections perfectly.
it didnt connect before and after the mtx virus, and i think that i saw that it "****ed" (excuse me for the language) the winsock dll or something like it thats why i want to reinstall it.
mty friend sayed that ill try to delete all the network properties and then define it again, ill try.....
thanks
