Question about unattended installation
I've been learning and working with setting up sys preps, unattended install, network deployment, etc. for Windows XP and/or 2000. What I'd really like to do is either create a network deployment folder or span several CD's to Install Windows, configure Windows, install all SP's/patches, install Office based off an Office install I already have and all of it's SP's/patches. I've got the unattended install thing down pretty well, but what I don't understand is how to include Office and other apps to this procedure. Anyone know of a good place I can read up on this? Any tips for deploying something like this?
Ultimately I'd like to pop in a couple CD's, press a few buttons and have Windows/Office, fully installed/patched/configured with little manual input.

OK maybe I can help.
if you create an administrative install point for office. you can use the guirunonce section of your unnattended.txt file or winnt.sif (if you are using cd) to execute the command to first map a network drive to the share where office is, then the command to execute the msi file to install with silent switches.
here is some info
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2000/two/45ct_3.htm
it's for office 2000 but should apply to XP and 2003

This site has a ton of info related to unattended installs...and they have a method similar to what you want but it uses a DVD. Still, might set you in the right direction!

Check it...good luck!

I've been going to MSFN's forum for a year now, quite a lot of stuff and plenty of useful resources. they have a whole unattended section http://unattended.msfn.org/
and also on the forums.
