Angry No background color $ weird font in webpages

    Hi Gang

I have a laptop running Windows XP Pro SP 2 that decided one day to just quit displaying a background color while surfing the web. All the settings are correct and I can verify that by checking an identical laptop I have that is working correctly. The font is also very large.

I have emptied all the temp files. Restored the defaults. Checked and double checked all the settings. Ran the IE repair tool. The monitor and video drivers are correct and identical to the machine that is working correctly.

Anyone know how to correct this error.

    Thanks in advance

Have you run the array of spyware and AV progs and run them in safemode?

in IE go to Tools...Internet Options and click the Accessability button...make sure that somehow the defaults got changed...sounds like a mis-behaving style sheet setting.

Thanks for the fast replies guys!

Yes!, I have ran a vast array of adware and spyware: adaware, spybot, cwshredder, hijackthis software including virus scans with NAV 2004, Trend Micro and AVG. I did remove some spyware and adware but the machine was and is virus free....... I also cleaned up the startup in msconfig and the run lines in the registry. Everything I removed was your normal everyday spyware/adware and hijacking entries.

I have been thru the Accessability settings too! I've also checked the font settings and color settings. I've reinstalled IE 6.0, repaired IE using both the repair utility and the IE repair tool. NO JOY!!

This feels like something simple. Other than the screwy font and no background color while surfing, the machine runs great!!

Keep em coming..........this one has me pulling my hair.

    Thanks again!
