Personally, I love all these over elaboratley decorated homes! We take the kids out a day or two before Xmas each year driving around looking at them all.
On a side note, my uncle does his place up like this each year, over 100 lawn decorations, lights all over the house and trees in his yard. This year, he fell out of the tree while hanging lights, broke his collarbone, 6 ribs and punctured a lung.....kind of depressing. When he got released, his first concern was getting the lights finished, so we had a work party and all the the family got together and finished it for him.
He wouldn't even hear thought of going without them this year, he said there are too many people each year who tell him how much thier children enjoy coming by each year to see the display.
I'll try to grab a pic this weekend when I am out that way.

In Little Rock, Ark., some residents were so upset about a display with 3 million lights — said to be visible from 80 miles away — that they got the state’s Supreme Court to agree it was a public nuisance and order it scaled back.
In Monte Sereno, Calif., a couple whose huge display attracted thousands of passers-by angered neighbors and led the City Council to require a permit for any exhibit lasting longer than three days.
Definite lack of the Christmas spirit.

There was a news story on that 2nd one last week. The couple refused to get a permit, and instead, built a 10 ft. "Grinch" that sings the grinch song while pointing its finger to the neighbors house who registered all the complaints!!
