Error trying to print
I have Win98, Word97 and printer is HP Deskjet722c.
Problem: When I try to print I get error message "explorer....HPFWin14.dll" and explorer shuts down.
A parallel process happens in Word (Winword...Winword.exe and shutdown of Word).
What I've tried:
Followed HP protocol: unistalled/reinstalled HP; updated drivers to 10.3; shut down all background apps except systray and explore; turned off bidirectional communication and tool box. Uninstallled Winfax Pro 10.
Further suggestions?
TIA.

If I remeber right, it is a problem with Word. Try renaming the Normal.dot template. Word will create a new one, and see if that fixes the problem.

Renamed Normal.dot to Normalold.dot then opened word. When I clicked on open folder icon I received error message "winword caused gpf at HPFWin14.dll".
I reopened by clicked on a saved Word doc. and when I clicked file > print I received the same error messsage as above.
TIA.
