    You'd think with new management and all, there would be a new way of doing custom avatars, with more rules, but at least we could be doing out own avatar updating.

    it think it is more for the fact that you could upload an obsene pic and it would take a while for the mods to pick up on it, meanwhile people could get offended. By having to request it, the get to screen them as well.

    I know, but there are plenty of other forums where that is possible, we could even do that in a post, not difficult, but we know the rules, uploading a custom avatar or linking a pic to a post, both can be misused, its like saying we wont let u buy a car cause you can crash it, but go ahead and rent one!

    Not sure on that reason as its easier just to link to an innapropriate image than to get one to fit into an avatar sized upload.

    I dont think I was on teh forums when this took place, No wait! I do remember being able to upload my new avatars when I first joined, mustve happenned some time then.
