Have you tried doing a step by step confirmation of your start up files by hitting F8 at boot?

there is a virus out there that will make your puter behave this way. i encounterred it on a laptop i fixed for a friend. it could be a virus called kak.worm if you can get it booted in any fassion whatsoever id go to mcafee online and get their online virus removal software to remove it. be aware however that this will destroy the file that the virus has decided to reside in. you will probaly have to reload windows to correct this. hope this helps. nutz
