    Post win95 display?

I got this call toaday and have run out of things to try. We have been to this guy numberous times in the past and I can't figure out why win95 does this. "display seems to act goofy - at least once a day his views will automatically change from list to large icons, and his desktop will rearrange itself." any ideas?

    Ok,

Here are some things to try. Try running in safe mode form the win98 start up menu and see if this problem still occurs. If it does, then you know it is not your video card. If it doesnt do the weird stuff again, boot back into windows normally and uninstall the video card through control panel and renistall it with updated drivers. You can get the drivers from this web site ( i recommend you get updated ones anyway). Now if it still does the weird stuff in safe mode, then Im not sure what the problem is..you could always try deleteing the windows directory through dos( so you wont lose any of your programs or saved stuff ) and then reinstall windows. I hope this will help you.

Actually, a similar thing sometimes happens to me BECAUSE the system is going into Safe Mode, has your guy been into it recently? In Safe Mode on my system, the icons don't always fit onto the screen, so it rearranges them and I have to put them all back manually afterwards. Pain in the tuckus!
