Michael Vick: A total ripoff
Why do people keep insisting and trying to force the notion that this guy is so great and wonderful? He's a friggin average quarterback. I can think of 10 QB's just off the top of my head that smoke hiim in talent and skill and this guy gets a 9 year $100 million dollar contract? What a joke.
Check it out here.

He may only be average but he is the most exciting player in the game.

But he only touches the ball between 6 and 12 times a game. Vick gets to it a lot more so it adds to the excitement. At least for me.

The thing is,.. Owens has only been injured once that I can remember. Vick is always injured sitting on the sidelines.

Vick is Kordell II. Nothing to get excited about.
And they should make him change his jersey number too. Ben Roethlisberg OWNS #7, by the time all's said and done, no one will remember that number on anyone but Ben - not even Elway.

Exactly. The Falcons are going to be very sorry they wasted so much money on this average talent.

I thought I was missing something whenever I watched him play. I can't believe that contract either.

I think it's great that another Virginia Techie is making 9 figures...
Honestly though I was shocked that the Falcons made the deal. Remember though the one thing about NFL contracts is that the money is not guaranteed, but he got a fairly good signing bonus out of the deal too.
Unbelievable to me that owners pay these salaries...

Owens takes alot of plays off. Plus he's only involved in a few plays a game, as Techs has mentioned. Vick will run the ball at people that T.O. wouldn't even consider.
My personal feeling is the quaterback must be 6'2-5", 225-270, run a 4.7 40 yd. dash, and be very physical. If the defense has to put a "spy" on the QB, someone else is going to be open. It helps on play action, plus when he hits a cornerback, he will most likely win that battle.
