I just think its odd that its mostly when I'm dealing with video files.
Make sure you Uninstall thru Windows anything before you take it out or move it ,
And ya if you didn't Uninstall the modem before removing Windows may still have an IRQ reserved for it cause Windows to assign one shared with something else that may not be compatable with V.card .

Thanks to TechZ & GrandDad for posting the links.

I finally downloaded and installed v70.41 betas; yikes!! both 3DMark03 and Aquamark 3 caused reboots at the second test in their respective series.

I tried v66.93 again with the same result.

Reinstalling the v61.77 drivers brought everything back to normalcy. Apparently I can only run the 61.77's on my system at present.
My system at work uses the same motherboard and the GF4MX card is running just fine on the 66.93's (with an odd glitch during the DaVinci screensaver....the body of the crank-powered wagon is missing!).

Guess I'll just have to wait until the next official release and try again.

Hopefully I won't be stuck at one driver version for this card (I've had that with a couple of other cards, it sucked!)
    When all else fails.....FDISK!

From what I've read , alot of the 6*.** series may not (or make worse) work well with FX and lower cards , its try this , try that sometimes to find one that improves things .
There's a guy working some 6*.** drivers that will be geared toward FX cards , when he gets done and few have tried them and they seem to work , I'll post about it .

I'm downloading the v67.03 drivers from the link Radical Dreamer posted.

The remark on that site about a fix for motherboard compatibility, "most notably SiS motherboards" caught my eye since I'm using ECS K7S5A's both at home and at work.
    Hopefully these do the trick.

    Angry

    AARRRRGGHH!!!

Exactly the same problem as before!

I don't know what changed between v61.77 and v66.93 (and beyond), but both Aquamark 3 and 3DMark2003 cause reboots during benchmarking. I'll be sticking with the v61.77's and sending off e-mail(s) to nVidia and/or Gigabyte to see if there's a solution to this problem.

Thanks again for the helpful links and tips.

    Thumbs up

    Finally solved the problem.

Updated the videocard BIOS to the latest available from Gigabyte.
Updated the motherboard with a BIOS released this year (on the Taiwan site, not the US site). Set the RAM timing to 'SPD' instead of forcing CL2.5.

This gave me successful runs of both 3DMark2003 and Aquamark 3 (YAY! ).

I then took a chance on a modded BIOS I found in the OCWorkbench forums and got a slight performance boost from that. The system now runs quite nicely with the v67.03 nVidia drivers.

    Ready for Half Life 2!

    Excerpt:
You wanted them and we have them for you. After the disappointment that was 71.21 hopefully you will find these much better. I don't know though, but I should have these drivers myself before midnight. So let me know how these drivers go! The 71.22 had all kinds of problems with Counter-strike: Source (as well as other applications) so I didn't even bother to post them - lets hope these will do the trick as I am pretty sure that they will be the last release of the year.

The drivers are obviously beta, so use them at your own risk - not to scare you off or anything like that, as these should be a nice release really.

I'll add more information as I discover it! I really wanted to get these drivers out to you as soon as I could!! What I have determined is that the files were WHQL on the 22nd of December and the other files have a timestamp of 15th so at least they weren't the drivers that were being worked on just before and during the Christmas part because you know that could just mean problems. Without a modified .INF these drivers only support the Geforce6 series, but if you are using older cards you should have fast and stable drivers anyway to be honest.
