Got an email the other day from AvantGo recommending that users upgrade to the new version of their client. For PocketPC, this would be version 5.7 build 35. Although I had no problems w/ the version I was using (the one included w/ ActiveSync that works through IE), I decided to try it out. Nothing but trouble. Instability. Freezing on sync. Syncing from within the client wouldn't work (had to be initiated from ActiveSync). The last straw was when it froze and a soft reset wouldn't work. Had to do a hard reset and reinstall everything on my PDA (Toshiba e310). Phooey.
