    Unhappy ODBC error....

ok mates... after the freaking process of installing MS Office... and MS Visual Studio, now im getting odbc problems... specificly about Microsoft(*.mdb, *.xls, etc.) drivers Also using the Odbc Data Sources under control panel.... i cannot add or remove drivers... all with the same error:

    the first dialog box says:

"The setup routines for the Microsoft Acces Driver (*.mdb) ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 1157"

and then the second Dialog box says:

"Could not load the setup or translation library"

but... the funny deal here is that you can manage the SQL driver, the Oracle driver, and the Visual fox pro driver too!!!! but all other microsoft drivers DONT GET LOADED!

Ive already found information about this error but they dont explain it well (Microsoft Tech support never explain anything well)...

so if some mate can HELP me to work around this using the Registry!(yeah... i know something about it hehe!!!) or if you have suggestion... ALL ARE WELCOME!!!

P.S.: the odbc drivers with problem... all have the same version number and are linked to the same file... its weird!!!!

    file linked: odbcjt32.dll
    driver versions: 4.00.5303.01

    Thanks for your time mates!!!!

    Jauja,

One of these Knowledge base articles might help: http://support.microsoft.com/support.../Q260/5/58.ASP
    http://support.microsoft.com/support.../Q163/9/98.asp

They both reference that Code 1157 error.

    Good Luck.
