What file holds the configuration for Outlook?
We upgraded a user's computer. She used Outlook 2000 before the upgrade and is continuing to do so after the upgrade. She has Windows 2000.
She set up a rule in Outlook to automatically delete e-mails from many, many spammers. I would like to find the configuration for Outlook on her old profile, and copy it over to her new profile. I know the .pst file holds her e-mails, contacts and etc., but what holds her configurations such as rules? Thanks.

i have always found that rules get lost whenever you redo a machine... outlook.pst or whatever.pst is where all yoru messages are but never found the config file... my rules were always easy enough to set up i didnt worry about it...

If you go to the rules manager, there is an option to export rules.

I found an article at this link that talks about rules.

I have not yet had an opportunity to get back on her computer yet, so I have been experimenting on my computer here at work and at home. I have rules set up on each, yet when I did a search for files with a .rwz extension, nothing came up. I will have to look into this further.

If nothing else pans out, I could make her computer a member on the previous domain again, log in, export the rules, etc. etc. Whatever I do, it needs to be quick and I need to get it right the first time. She was in an all day meeting yesterday, so today she will be trying to get caught up on things.

I followed up with the user and she said she typed the rule back in again, so her problem is solved. That makes me wonder if she may have exagerated a little about this rule containing the names of "hundreds of spammers". I no longer need to work on this, but I suspect that if I had I would have found a .rwz file someplace on her computer.
