Question Install SNMP on Windows 2000

I need to roll out SNMP on a couple hundred Windows 2000 computers, and for the obvious reason don't want to go to each one, open the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs ... etc ...

I've Googled the subject but can't seem to find a definitive answer, so does anyone know how to add SNMP service to Windows 2000 by using a logon or batch file?

    TIA!

why dont you use Group Policy

If you have a domain, the most easy way is to create a new group policy to configure the agent.
You find it in a GPO, under 'Computer configuration'\'Administrative Templates\Network\SNMP
Its the easy way, one action and all the computers get configured. Just one problem: it doesn't work well with HP Insight Agents.

Greetings from the country of Sun!
    (and it shines today)

Unfortunately neither of these answers are of any help. There is no such branch in Active Directory on my domain, and the offer of the Windows 2000 Server education is much appreciated but I don't think I need that at this point in my life!

I solved my own problem. One (1) free copy of WinInstall LE for Windows 2003 Server (http://www.ondemandsoftware.com/freele.asp) was able to capture the process of installing SNMP from the Control Panel, then roll it into a MSI file that can be deployed.

I had tried the earlier version of WinInstall LE that came with Windows 2000 Server but it wouldn't work, neither would calling the netsnmp.inf file from a batch file. But this does.
