Copying MS Office 2000 Professional to 2nd computer
I have MS Office 2000 Professional installed on my pc (Windows Me). I would like to install it on my husband's pc (Windows 98). I cannot locate the installation CD, but still have the installation CD code number. If I burn the software program from my hard drive to a CD, will I be able to install it on the other computer with the CD, and will there be any compatibility issues? If I can install in this manner, (hoping I am not violating any licensing agreements), how do I go about doing so? This is very pricey software, and I don't want to make another purchase unless necessary.
Any helpful suggestions will be appreciated.

In addition, it is in violation of the end user license agreement you agreed to when you first installed the program UNLESS you purchased a multi-user license as in the case with a purchase for a network or some versions of the Student Teach Editions of the software.
HOWEVER, there are alternatives to the Microsoft Office suite. One of them being www.openoffice.org which is compatible with a lot of versions of Word.

In addition to above, if you have kids you might take a look at Office 2003 Student & Teacher Edition. It runs $125-$150 and can legally be installed on 3 computers.
