An honest appraisal:

I used to think that Cleetus was a bufoon, with the IQ of a grape.

However, I have seen some remarkably insightful and well thought out posts from him on occasion, leading me to believe that my first impression is entirely wrong.

When I lived in the mountains of NC, I met lots of people who WANTED you to think that they were dumb hillbillies, so as to take advantage of one's complacency, and they could "get over" on you. While I have no idea why Cleetus wants people to think he is "slow", it is obvious that this *is* what he wants one to think.

Cleetus is ok. I think he just does all this to make his day more interesting.

but i do agree that you use the "think i'm stupid and ignorant so that it's easier for me to manipulate you" strategy. ONe i am quite fond of myself at times, althought i prefer to let people think that i'm crazy so that i can manipulate them when need be.

Life is just easier when you play stupid, most people think that the majority of people are beneath them and make up their minds well before they really know the person. Let them do that and you can get away with so much more.

I think that's deceitful, and just as underhanded as what you are complaining about. What ever happened to being forthright and upfront with people so they can evaluate you on that merit. If they draw the wrong conclusion, they can’t say, well, you didn’t give me the proper material…

THat's why you do it with people you've already determined you don't care to associate with after already presenting yourself.

I have more people here relating me to an inbred hick out of Texas that don't know squat then anywhere else I have used the name online or in real life.

How many people see me as militant and unrelenting around here? Probably more because of my avatar, and my persona, but at least it's the real me.

I pity you that you can't even be real to yourself in a fake community...

Of all the other schtuff you remembered about me, why can't you remember that I am a wannabe redneck that actually grew up as a spoiled rich kid in one of the richest communities in Texas?
