missing files
I have a shop built pc running windows 2000 pro and i think i have deleted some of the operating system files but i dont have any disks or anything is it possible to use somebody elses 200 disk to repair my system or do i have to go back to shop for a clean install and pay £30 because i know its my fault because i had trouble trying to install dvd burning software after buying a dvd writer which caused system to keep crashing also could it be a memory problem?

The shop that built the pc is required to provide you with a copy of the operating system, either on cd or a recovery partition.
That said, you shouldn't need a clean install. Insert a W2K cd and run "sfc scannow" from the Start/Run menu.

I,ll see if i can get hold of one.I think that it could be a memory problem cos whenever i try to use any copying software my comp restarts itself after so long and i<ve looked in task manager and the cpu is running at 100% so i think the system maybe getting too hot and so restarts any ideas anyone
