User profiles
A remote user on win98 connecting via a VPN using TCP/IP connects to Novell 5.1 server and excahnge on a win2000 server, every time user logs in it creates the user profile and loads the policies, if the user logs out it will create the profile again and load the policies, if the user does a shut down the system hangs or takes forever to shutdown. It seems as if the profile is being saved across the LAN,I have loged in a different user in this system and have no problems, I have loged in the user in another system and the problem does not occur,
Is there a local setting that will cause this?
I have never encountered this problem before, can any one help?

sounds like the remote user has activated multi user profiles with independent settings on the remote pc. I'm not sure though because the error you are describing would also involve typing the path for the profile as a network path or drive letter which exists on the server.
Check the passwords section of the control panel on the remote pc.
Hope this helps

Yes that is where the problem was, the system was set for multi users, I set for all users to use the same profile, since there is only one user then I don't forsee any problems.
