cd rom/cd writer drivers disabled after recovery

After running system recovery my cd drives are showing up with an exclamation point by them and say that the drivers are disabled?

    Welcome to Windrivers tfiscus

    Is the ME or XP?

What burning software are you using (if any)?
In the properties in device manager for the drives, what error code is shown?

this is a common fix for XP. If you have ME it does not apply.
This fix can work even if you have never had easy cd.
