 Win 98 Install Question
Tried to reinstall Win 98 on Pent II computer--went with recovery disk, then used Win 98 disk, but repeatedly get warning "install failed, cannot locate win.com". I am stuck as what to do. I repeated the reinstall process three times, but same warning. Many thanks for any help.

Are you trying to lay it over the current system? What is the reason for the re-install. If there isn't any data that is needed and not backed up, I would format and then reinstall.

System seemed unstable as it is three or so years old. I was trying to copy over onto the old system, but I thought the "delete and reinstall" option was the best. There are no files neede as I backed up all before I tried this procedure. I'll try ther format and reinstall routine many thanks!

Win.com is the executable file that loads Windows. For some reason either it's gone, or corrupted.
Yep, format and reinstall.
