Epox 8k7a--what's 1C?
Friend built a system with an Epox 8k7a, does not display anything and shows a brief 1C before showing FF on the display monitor (gotta love that thing). I heard in the WD Chat room that htis means a RAM problem. Is this true? If not what could it be? I looked in my manual (we have almost the same board) and it listed 1C as "reserved".
Thanks...

I had a 1C error on my 8KTA3 and it turned out to be a chipped 1.2 Atlon.
Not sure if is the same on your friends.

He put an XP1500 in there with a Thermalright CB-6L, but with an Athlon XP shim. I don't see how it chipped. Could it be that the heatsink is not working right with the AXPs as they are a bit taller?

It is possible. It also could be that the codes are different.
I would be curious to know what it is when you find out. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
