    XP New Install

I am working on a machine that will need a fresh install of Win XP PRO. The person does not have his original XP disk. His machine has the XP Pro Sticker on the side with the KEY. Now, I only have a XP disk for Corporate Edition and not XP Pro retail or oem. Is there a way I can use my XP Pro Corp. disk for the install on his machine using his original CD Key? I know I have tried this in the past but it failed to recognize the KEY because of the difference but wondered if there is a certain way I can add a command upon install to let it allow the XP Pro OEM key.

No. But you can borrow a OEM CD and use your key.

If im not mistaken the only diffenrece between "corperate" and OEM vesions is that corperate will not ask fora CD-Key as it assumes that you have volume licensing like "Select" that being hte case you should be able to install it with out problems.
Licensing may get stiky though.... he has a valid licence for his PC, but installing windows that way may also use one of your companys licences as well.... (it depends on how the MS police are feeling that day)

Corporate (aka 'volume') *does* ask for a key, and must me a 'volume' key.

Yes, the corporate does ask for a key, and it is a "volume" key. I remember reading something in these forums that would allow you to change the type of disk it is by adding or midifying a certain parameter. As long as it is XP Pro you can change it to retial, oem or corporate. Then burn it to a cd. I have to do more searching. I do not have access to a oem original, I only have a restore copy for my machine which loads all the vendor specific junk as well.
