To Whom it may concern....
I don't know who's doing it, I reall don't care.
I Look at the code for the java applet and see that you've changed the chat server.
Fine, that's your choice. But i'm gonna give you the facts of life.
You may now have your own "Controlled" room. If you can call anything on efnet under "your" control. But i seriously doubt it. Looking at how you have things setup, your not doing your "Guests" favors. Specialy security wise, specialy when anyone can see a users IP address.. Can we say hack fest?
Did i mention all the "questionable" rooms that are now available on the server?
This all leads to the final point.
What made the chat so sucessfull was the users. I can show many records indication people where actualy getting help. I know Richard1 has seen some of them. What you don't gain with this new server are the users who have made it what it is.
I truly believe that the users who currently attend my server will keep connecting to my server cause of the way we treat our users and how we *gasp* RESPECT THEIR INPUT.
but i guess that means nothing to management here.. oh well.
On to other stuff.
Richard1. I suspect your multiple logons this morning have had an impact on your decision making(if it was your decisions). I can see you logged in from several locations. If you have a disagreement about how i run things, i would have hoped you would have spoken to me first, but from what i've read, that's not high on your priority list.
So the end results are simple. You now have your very very very own room without moderation OR users to help guests (about 60-80 a day)
I have a bunch of users on a chat server who like to help people out, who don't care where they come from, don't care about this site or that site, they just enjoy the chat.
I thought you would have been more .. Uhm, I don't know .. Respectfull of us who have helped for many many years with little in return.
I guess it's up to me and ferrit to find new tech support sites that need some good chat people to help out.
Now ofcourse, if this is not your intent, please let us know and explain to us the total mis-understanding.

And, believe it or not, that is what I was told late last night that it was and is. I was told it would be addressed today, and I hope, the sooner the better for all concerned.

Triple, i don't know what you posted, nor do i care to click on that "view post" to see it. I suspect however that your trying to say something like "I've been told it's gonna get fixed.. please just wait". I did not ask for you help in this issue, I don't want it. I also believe that you don't know half of what your talking about in regards to this problem, cause I've already seen where you tried to make a "mediation" without out knowing anything your talking about.
Don't stick your nose where it's not wanted.
